Gongala Mountain
"Gongala" Biodiversity "Suriya Kanda" is a beautiful mountain range that rises from the Deniaya mountain range next to the Sinharaja forest. This area is surrounded by mountains and is surrounded by rural areas such as Anikand, Panilkanda, Selo Kanda, Jayathunkanda, Buthkanda, Ittekanda etc. Gongala Kanda is a mountain area isolated from the Sinharaja Forest. Two major rivers that feed the Ging Ganga fall through this area. According to legend, the name Gongala was given to this mountain when it was surrounded by a big rock in the shape of a bull's head. This mountainous area bathed in cold fog is still preserving its naturalness because of the lack of attention of local tourists. The Gongala mountain range, which is formed by a large stone plateau, is another wonderful creation of nature.
