Hambanthota Harbour

Magampura Mahinda Rajapakse Port located in Tissamaharama in Hambantota District was inaugurated in January 2008. Opened on November 18, 2010, there are 3 temples here. This port, which has been completed with financial support from the Chinese government, is the world's first inland port. The investment in the first phase is A.D. 361 million, of which 85% was provided by China's One-Same Bank. Hambantota International Port is a deep water port located in Hambantota, Sri Lanka. It was opened on 18 November 2010 and is the second largest port in Sri Lanka after Colombo Port. In 2020, the port handled 1.8 million tonnes of LPG and dry bulk cargo.
